Leveling up Whatsapp: Two New Features to Improve Group Chats and Privacy

According to reports, a new feature called “approve new participants” in group settings is being rolled out to some beta evaluators on Android and iOS by Meta-owned WhatsApp.

According to WABetaInfo, group managers will be able to control how the approval of new users operates in their groups with the help of this feature. Anyone attempting to join a group will require supervisor permission once the option is activated.

Furthermore, the feature could give group admins more control over who enters the group because it allows them to decide whether to accept or refuse new members when they join, regardless of whether they joined through a group invite link.

Additionally, this might assist administrators in reducing the large volume of inquiries they get from individuals wishing to join a particular community subgroup. In the upcoming weeks, this function will be made available to even more beta testers, according to the story.

The “silence unknown callers” feature, which is allegedly being developed by WhatsApp, will enable users to stop calls from unauthorized numbers while still displaying them in the calls list and notification center. The beta version of WhatsApp for Android is presently being updated with the new functionality.
